This was Fred’s color test for the comic, drawing it directly in color instead of doing black and white inks first. I thought it was awesome and hoped it’d continue in this fashion but it seems more folks preferred the black and white version and felt this way looked rushed.
Picture needs an expansion button, it’s very hard to read.
As far as the colors go, this probably was when fred first started out doing digital coloring, and everyone was used to more defined black and white lines. It’s probably like using nothing but colored sharpies without defining the lines first. His EXP levels with digital media since this first came out have exploded exponentially. It’s like, level 3-4 when doing this, and now… he’s level 100 or greater.
Yeah, some of these older pics had teeny text on them. Kinda like the font used for this reply section. I’m looking at increasing that here. Some of the pics can be viewed in their full size, like the 2 mural pics, by right clicking on the image and selecting “Open image in new tab”. Hopefully there won’t be an issue with reading the text in the new comics, but we’ll find out starting tomorrow. 🙂
I’ve found just zooming to 150% in Chrome works wonders for improving readability.
